Characters in Preliminary Exercise

Daniel

• Aged 16 years old and studies at the college.
• He has been messing about in the college and not been treating this placement seriously.
• He has disrupted classes, not come to college when he should have done that and is driving the teachers to having no choice but to kick him out.
• Whenever he is in trouble he tries to be the innocent, sweet kid who becomes defensive and tries to scurry his way out of trouble.
• He always tries to convince the teachers that he can change but the teachers have heard it so many times that they now don't know what to believe.
• Daniel can get a bit emotional sometimes and can overdramatise stuff to make it worse than what it actually is.

Nicola Bates

• Aged 23 years old and is a staff member at the college. She is also Daniel's PPM.
• She is aware that Daniel has messed about in college and Daniel has been given numerous chances to change as a person and has failed.
• She wants to give Daniel another chance but feels that he won't step up to the mark and realises that other people would want Daniels spot in college.
• She can see right through Daniel whenever he is telling the truth or acting.
• She decides that the best option is to kick Daniel out of college because she feels that Daniel won't change and has been given too many chances.
• Nicola does feel sorry for Daniel and if it was down to personality alone she would give him another chance but she has to do her job and has to kick him out.

Shot reverse shot

Shot reverse shot is where a character is looking at another character, then the shot is changed and the character is seen looking back at the first character.
